Many of the precious objects in the collections of the Cairo Islamic Art Museum come from a wide range of mosques and monuments dating back to various periods throughout Egypt's Islamic history. The collections are organized both by period and medium. Among the objects displayed are different textiles, ceramics, pieces of furniture, swords, pistols, enameled glass and books including copies of the Quran that are over 1000 years old.
